No doubt a very impressively crafted movie, but unfortunately my praise kind of ends there. I can actually see the value in adapting this novel again nearly 100 years after Lewis Milestone did, with film technology having come so far and with that being very much an Americanized version of the story. I just don’t think this movie really adds anything else to the conversation or the genre
