Something that has always drawn me to cinema is how it works as an art form. Art is something that has to be experienced in person in order to fully understand, feel, and contemplate. You must see a Rodin in person to truly appreciate its sculptural beauty, you have to see Rigolleto to appreciate the genius of the music. As is with almost all art forms from painting to theatre to sculpture to opera etc. Film is something different though,…

This is one of the most important documentaries ever made. I am writing this with blurry and swollen eyes because I cannot stop crying.

This must be seen by everyone. The story that Waad tells us through her daughter is the most humanizing and heartbreaking story. Why and How do we do this to each other, how do we justify war? How do our world leaders sit and without care orchestrate the deaths of so many people? I have long…

A nearly perfect half to a much anticipated whole.

Did I Google ‘what is the largest screen in the UK’?

    Compare that to Lidia,…

Today is Brooke and I’s 3rd anniversary. There is nothing better to watch to celebrate our love. I truly mean it when I say that this film is the most beautiful and heartwarming film ever. I love this film more than I could ever describe. This is going to sound corny as hell but it sincerely makes me appreciate life more and appreciate what I have with Brooke more. I could write essays more but I will leave it at that. This is just perfect.

I’ll set the scene. I’m watching this in my grandmother’s house in Wyoming on an old VHS on an old VCR/TV combo, with a picture of Jesus looking at me the whole time.

It’s been 20 years since I have seen this but it just felt like the right time to revisit it. Little did I know that this movie I used to watch as a kid is actually pretty obscure because it’s apparently an old Russian animation from the…
