Left me truly speechless, I had ideas on how to write about this but by the time it arrived at its ending, my mind became too clouded with anger and repulsion and I physically felt like throwing up – which means the film has completely achieved what it's intending to do here. It'd be wrong to just write this off as a film about the banality of evil when on top of that, it's actually one of the most harrowing…

"I see a holy war spreading across the universe like unquenchable fire. [...] A war in my name."

My first ever IMAX experience, my life has been changed. Truly, truly made to be seen on nothing but the biggest screen imaginable. The full frame version makes it feel so much more complete and lively, with so many details and subtle character expressions to pick up on that are normally out of frame, it's just absurd that Denis won't give us…

This review puts it best. Pedro Pascal plays a "penis collector" while every other scene is intercut with the most weirdly psychedelic fever dream sequences imaginable. A surprisingly large amount of this revolves around Matt Damon's penis lmao. As expected it's absolutely hilarious, unabashedly horny and perfectly paced at 83 minutes, although the beginning does take too long to get going. Qualley with her southern accent is great but Viswanathan stood out the most to me. Insert joke about Pedro Pascal giving great head, you'll understand it when you see it.

My friend really loves this so we watched it together, can't say I do, too, but I'm still glad I watched it with her. The edgy jokes just feel way too forced and this whole thing is so convoluted it actually gets draining. Criminal waste of Keith David, too. Some of the songs are cool though, I guess. The 2019 pilot that's here on letterboxd is abominable lmao, the show's okay. Will still watch Season 2 when it eventually comes out.

Update 19/09/2021: Just rewatched it in OV on an even better theater screen with much better sound, however in 3D - the only english screening was in 3D but against my expectations it actually enhanced my viewing experience a little bit - and literally all the flaws I found to be present the first time were gone completely. I cannot possibly describe how much this film means to me and how flawless I found this to be, it's truly everything…

Just 3 hours and 12 minutes of James Cameron doing James Cameron things and it's fucking glorious.

On a visual level undoubtedly the most gorgeous looking film I have ever seen in my entire life. Cameron breathes so much life into this wonderful world of Pandora and with the 3D and the high frame rate you genuinely feel like you live inside all of it. It's so much more beautiful and cleaner than the recent re-release of the first one…
