A brilliant example of exhilarating direction and breathtakingly cultivated atmosphere completely overshadowed by convoluted thematic drudgery and then a pretty laughable finale. Won me over and then lost me so many times that I lost count. The violent set pieces are stunning though, it goes to show that sometimes the simplicity and campiness of a fim like Argento's original works so much better because of the focus being on visceral ferocity and stylistic excess.
