I really don't view this adaptation of Carrie a direct remake, and I certainly don't hate it like the majority, because all in all it's the same Stephen King story for the third time modernized for its own audience. Chloë Grace Moretz isn't my favorite incarnation of this character, but stepped into this role in a very original way, as did the rest of the cast respectively. I really love how this captured that whole era of cyberbullying and internet culture, but also just the way it feels like an early 2010s horror movie. Gives me the same rush as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Fright Night, with its polished glossy look and the brilliant final act. Very surprised this didn't get a direct-to-video sequel or something.
