Steven’s review published on Letterboxd:
Luca Guadagnino's remake of Suspiria definitely put a spin on the 1977 original, and it succeeded in exploring the story of The Three Mothers with a unique execution. I don't think that this needed to be as long as it was, I don't think I enjoyed the bleak visuals as much as I did Argento's vibrant color palette, and I don't think I want them to play with the idea of a prequel as much as the original trilogy could have. The representation of witchcraft here was beautifully choreographed and captivated me for moments at a time, and the cast was phenomenal too. I'm revisiting this at the end of the year to gather my thoughts for sure.
