I dont know why this movie works. A comedy film about a child with an imaginary Hitler... WHAT. But it does... Taika Watiti combines excellent writing and genuine emotion to create a somber, yet humorous atmosphere. It almost feels like a modern day Strangelove. It's a dark comedy, that comes from a very dark time, but it somehow works. I went from sadness to laughter in a matter of minutes, and I loved it very much.
