AHHHHHHHHHH WHAT!!!!!!! more to come when i have the brain to write something that gives this movie justice, but all i can say right now is that my mind. is blown.
Okay. To me there are 2 different viewpoints to this one. 1. You love it. Or 2. You hate it. Personally, I can see both sides. Sure, I didn't LOVE the whole "let's say fuck and cocksucker every other line and make that a personality trait" aspect. BUT, that's what makes this film so badass and amazing to me. All that said, leaving all of your personal opinions aside, there is absolutely nobody who can dispute the fact that this was a flawlessly composed, perfectly orchestrated narrative.
I don't know about everybody else, but this was the most stressful 2 hours of my entire life. I was sweating, on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time waiting for something to go wrong. It was like I was a gambler. All my money was at stake and my life was on the line. It was insane, all thanks to the Safdie brothers. The quick pans, the vibrant colors, the flowy cinematography, the score...oh damn, that SCORE, absolutely killed me.
Not to mention the aura of Adam Sandler, the man with the most impressive range ever. How one can go from playing a lead roles in Jack and Jill to this masterpiece will always confuse me. He is epic, awesome, and my personal hero.
My sincerest condolences for not one Academy nomination for this. They dumb.
