Lee Chang-dong directs this gem of a film: all three lead actors give wonderful
performances. A hauntingly beautiful film. I was so intrigued and moved particularly by Lee Jong-Su and Shin Hae-Mi’s connection and background story. The scene, in which Jun Jong-Seo dances before the burning sunset is breathtakingly beautiful and atmospheric. It also really incapsulates her character’s free spirit and sensitive soul that radiates throughout the film.
An Emotively, understated and multi layered film filled with in-depth ideas and…

Mirror is a reflective, poetic, abstract and hauntingly beautiful film. I was visually intrigued while being immersed in a deeply personal dream-like collection of fragmented memories and moments from a man’s childhood and life. I stopped reading the distracting subtitles, and just listened to the Russian verse, and let the visuals overwhelm and move me. I got more from visually and intuitively experiencing this film than trying to decipher a cohesive narrative. It's a non-linear, quiet and slow film that puts…

This little gem is humble yet heartbreaking while also being effortlessly charming and tender, heartwarmingly lovely. It’s all so risky! Everything is on the line for this Korean-American family. You cannot escape that heaviness cloud lingering around their farm. The relationship dynamic and development between David and his Grandmother was engaging a real highlight to experience. Also It has to be said that Will Patton’s quirky standout performance needs to be acknowledged for all its weirdness!

Unrequited, forbidden lust and love collide with a heavy handed exploration of brotherhood loyalties among the 80’s gritty gangster life of crime on the streets of Hong Kong. The yearning and pensive longing vibes are beginning to sizzle in Kar-Wai’s directorial debut as his signature style begins to emerge. I have just been introduced to the gorgeous Maggie Cheung and Andy Lau and find them to be both intoxicatingly easy to watch. Lonely nights, lack of money and living on the edge just…

    ❣️ Emotional & Clever  ✍️ ❣️

I love when a film is able to make me feel a range of emotions

“Sometimes I think I’ve felt everything I’m ever gonna feel, and from here on out I’m not going to feel anything new…just lesser versions of what I’ve already felt.”

Joaquin Phoenix gives an outstanding performance. His world consists of emotional disconnection. People talk to their devices rather than to each other and they send meaningful novelty ‘handwritten’ letters to their…

    Choices, Sacrifices and Revenge
This film had everything I dislike about humanity rolled into one film. All the human traits that make people abusive, critical and controlling. Being judgemental, manipulative, gaslighting, demonstrating favouritism and having to tolerate constant unsolicited advice about your life choices etc.... The family members seemed insecure, self deprecating and incredibly inappropriate by humiliating and judging each other so harshly. So it was indeed a frustrating and disturbing watch for me and a thorough guide on how…
