Matt Singer’s review published on Letterboxd:
Because I love Spider-Man so much, I am always extremely suspicious of my own reactions to Spider-Man movies. Like, is it really that good? Or am I just so much of a Spider-Man mark that anything will please me?
In the case of Into the Spider-Verse, it is as good or better than I initially thought. On repeat viewing, it’s so smart, and sweet, and beautifully animated — and so fun to look at I and a lot of people underrated the incredible voice work in this movie, from Shameik Moore as Miles to Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen to Brian Tyree Henry as Miles’ dad Jefferson. Everyone is so perfectly cast, and give such emotional performances. They definitely did not* make me cry.
I look forward to a lifetime of watching this movie.
*Fine, they did. I am not emotionally equipped to handle Spider-Man telling someone they are proud of them, ok?
