Michael Lane’s review published on Letterboxd:
I cannot even attribute a score to this one at this juncture. Having only seen it this one time, I can definitively say that it is a gorgeous film to look at, and among the obvious highlights are the wonderful lead performances and unforgettable score. However, I believe that there's just too much going on in this tirelessly drawn-out, decidedly ambiguous narrative that I cannot give it a formal score after just one viewing. Burning almost certainly requires (and possibly deserves) a second watch to be fully appreciated, although I'm not certain I have the energy to do so anytime soon.
