It’s a complete joy the second time around.
A romance of dissonance, acutely and hilariously exploring the ever-evolving power dynamics of an extremely dysfunctional (?) relationship; while the artist, Reynolds Jeremiah Woodcock, is full of detail, respect, and power, his newly selected Alma is plucked from her context and given the uphill battle she never knew she’d be so good at. An honest yet borderline farcical romantic comedy, Phantom Thread is definitely a new favorite.
