The fact that Kelly Mcdonald is only in this for like 5 minutes makes me wanna give it a half star, but I'll try to be fair.
I always get stumped on rating movies like these; when there are a lot of good-to-great moments, but surrounded by mediocre ones. For every amazing moment there's a vapid one, for every endearing moment, there's a cheap, hokey one. It's frustrating, you'll be watching and think "hey, this is pretty good" then five minutes later you're thinking "hey, this is pretty silly." So I guess my opinion ends up depending on when in the movie you're asking me. Lucky for T2, it ends on a great moment.
Also.. obvious, product placement in a Trainspotting movie just feels wrong...
