    Long live the fighters!!

Denis Villeneuve once again directs a maximalist with such precision and passion for the material at hand. Dune Part 2 picks up after Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalemet) realizing that he could free the Freemen. His guides include his mother, Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) and Stilgar (Javier Bardem). Both have their ways of freeing themselves from the Harkonnens. An impeding war is upon the planet of Arrakis. Feyd-Harkonnen (Austin Butler) is crowned the challenger to Paul Atreides.…

Back in December 2022, I actually visited Amsterdam, Netherlands for a small Winter vacation. The experience was quite stunning as, I discovered the small city with such attention to architecture and cultural diversity. Immigrants and regional residents were welcoming and full of open arms. I met my good mutual Thomas at the EyeFilm Museum and smoked a bunch of legal cannabis in smokey bars. The Anne Frank Museum was the most historically draining experience to really clamp down. But, it…

    the heart mustn’t lead..

My war name is Subaru Forrester. I crosstrek around the Dunes. Malud’daib!! As written!🐛⏳

It’s also crazy to figure out how Paul crosses paths with our own reality. Organized religion being weaponized into prosperity. Or it’s used to destroy prosperity through violence and oppression. Just like what we see in the genocidal systems of the Earth. Science fiction always reflects reality. Denis better bless us with Dune Messiah or else, I fear a holy war that’ll take place behind the keyboards of Film Twitter.com

    Sibyl

    ★★★½

Justine Triet’s Sibyl is a bit twisty and messy. It doesn’t really hit its stride till, the second act actually happens. Cinema making inside of cinema is very meticulous and messy. That’s why, I can relate to Sandra Huller’s character Mikaela. She’s frustrated and creativity hungry. Just like Triet as, she stepped up her game after this.

So let me get this straight.

The actual history behind the Dahomey Tribe stems from them owning slaves. In a media literacy sense, you have to understand the repercussions of portraying these people as the “heroes” of the story. Hollywood has always entertained the idea of “Based on A True Story”. So why is it now controversial to make a Hollywood adaptation of this tribe? Well. Most of the controversial discourse lies beneath the racism and misogyny of the alt-right…

Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn

    ★★★★½

To open your film with an unsimulated sex scene is incredibly bold and insane. Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn recently won the Golden Bear at the 2021 Berlin International Film Festival. I’m not entirely familiar with this director’s work nor the Romanian New Wave movement. This was a wild ride to uncover. The first part of the film is about a teacher who is caught up with a sex tape scandal. We follow her through the streets of Bucharest,…
