SwargAces’s review published on Letterboxd:
The writing on this thing is so good for its time. Even the sentimentality of this era of film works perfectly as it feeds into the central tragedy of the film. It doesn’t matter to me whether Ilsa is truly still in love with Rick or whether Victor is the one who she has dedicated her life to, it’s a story about the fact that that among the many beautiful forms that love takes, sacrifice is the hardest to commit to.
