SwargAces’s review published on Letterboxd:
It’s hard to take this movie seriously when it has the unbearably sincere cadence of a Dhar Mann video and the most weightless, imagined stakes of a fathom event Christian blockbuster. All of this presented in the most Shyamalan way possible, with the subtext just uttered out by the characters draining any juice from the premise, makes this is a very boring experience.
I am not familiar with the source material but I don’t really think the Shyamalan horror route was appropriate for this story. It requires a more steady hand that focuses on inner turmoil rather than the spectacle and shock of the apocalypse. So yeah overall, a big meh.
