Assassination Nation walks a VERY fine line between critiquing vouyerism and reveling in it. I’m not quite sure if it achieved a balance that worked for me. I’m specifically thinking about the sexualized violence against the girls contrasted with the speeches about objectification.
That being said, definitely a wild ride. Some great acting, shoutout to my girl Hari Nef who fucking kills it. I’d watch it again.
P.S. I’m seeing a lot of reviews saying that this would be a better movie if it was directed by a woman and I just...strongly disagree.
