I’m not as big a fan of Saw 2 as a lot of people are. It seems to be ranked highly on a lot of lists. I really enjoy the Donnie Wahlberg cop side of the story, but the people trapped in the house tend to bore me.

All the characters trapped in the house, aside from Amanda who has a storyline baked in, are really boring or irritating. Xavier in particular I hate listening to and wish had died far far earlier in the film. The rest of them don’t really do a whole lot. It’s just not a very interesting group of victims. 

The cop side of the story is where all the fun is to had. You’ve got discount Mark Wahlberg going up against John Kramer (the haired version this time). Tracking John Kramer’s hair is one of the more perplexing mysteries of the series timeline. You get more of Kerry and Rigg, it expands the cop element out more which would continue throughout the films. 

It’s got it’s fans, and I don’t dislike it,  but it sits near the bottom of my personal ranking of the films.
