    Leprechaun in the Hood

A friend with weed is a friend indeed, but a friend with a Prime Video membership and access to Leprechaun 5: In the Hood is the best I'm told.

Leprechaun 5: In the Hood, is a film that could only have been made at the turn of the century, yet simultaneously looks like it’s from 1972. A film at the expense of all groups, yet made at a time when that was… ok? Racial caricatures, transgender jokes, dwarven exploitation; it's…

    The Young Offenders

    The Yob’s Bildungsroman

Youth. The formative years. A time of friendship, discovery, reflection, and cross country cocaine road trips. The Young Offenders is a perplexing tale of two Irish friends (doppelgängers), Jock and Conor, and their plan to escape the mundanity of teenage life. The plan? Retrieve €7 million in stray cocaine. Nomadland

I love the concepts of simple living/minimalism, but a movie like this really shows that my mindset comes from a place of privilege. For people who are forced to live simply...that's another story. A very bittersweet and heartbreaking movie. The entire cast for this movie played their roles with such rawness/believability (Partially due to the fact some are actual American nomads it seems). Also, the visuals are absolutely stunning! Felt on par with a planet earth documentary at times. It's really a shame that most of us are unable to see this one in theatres. Anyways, 100% recommend.

    Sound of Metal

    ★★★★½

This came completely out of nowhere. So many aspects of this movie were handled really tastefully. Of course Riz Ahmed's performance and the sound design were standouts, but this movie was really educational for me in terms of seeing aspects of the deaf experience. Super impactful without drifting into melodramatic territory. This movie is the anti-whiplash. Love love love it.
