• Tenet

You MUST see this in theatres. Tenet is the first movie I'm giving five stars, and there is a very specific reason, being. That it is the first movie I have ever watched and left the room with complete and total satisfaction.

Tenet is a spectacular adventure, with a complete story that makes total sense. Now that may not mean that it is effortless to grasp. However, my girlfriend saw this movie with me and hates movies, and even she…

  • Hulk

This movie is so much better than I remembered, but than again, I never actually saw the whole film in its entirety. Still, I've got an absolute Phobia of frogs, so I think that's understandable in this case.

Ang Lee's Hulk is such a weirdly brilliant movie that makes not much sense but enough to be like "all right, let's roll with it." And that said, let's talk about editing.

Editing is meant to be the glue that holds the…

  • The Incredible Hulk

    The Incredible Hulk

This movie is the only Marvel movie that is part of the MCU that you do not need to watch, but you should.

So this is my first Marvel movie review, and most likely my only MCU review there is not much I can add to the conversations of Marvel movies, especially now that the MCU is 22 films in at this point you either love them or hate them. Still, there are two black sheep Thor the Dark World…

  • Us

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Us is everything that I wanted Get Out to be. It's scary it's thought-provoking it's deep, enriched by its inspirations most importantly though it's an improvement in everything that GetOut needed, which is important for a sequel to do.

Okay, I'll admit that in my review for Get Out I was harsh. I judged it more on its subtext than it's actual context itself. Which I'll admit, I noticed people didn't like as it is still my only review with…

  • Get Out

    Get Out

OK, I've got to start with the obvious here Get Out is not as scary as I wanted it to be and very overhyped. Does that mean it is a bad film? Far from it.

Get Out by Jordan Peele is one of the more fascinating movies I've ever seen. The acting is incredible; the characters are natural. However, the overall story is very one-note. The only thing that is unique about it is the reasoning behind its plot.

  • Knives Out

    Knives Out

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

What an incredible movie. I've said in my review for Snowpeicer how Rian Johnson casts actors for roles based on that actor's portfolio in totality. And that has to be the entire genius of Knives out.

Knives Out is a film that lives and breathes it's cast. From Chris Evans to Christopher Plummer, the cast is made entirely out of recognizable faces that at least 75% of all audiences would have seen before playing some sort of evil character and,…

  • The Lighthouse

    The Lighthouse

Writing a review for a movie like this is incredibly hard. This is a rare case where the best thing I could say is I need to have someone explain the film to me, though that may not be a bad thing.

The Lighthouse is a love letter to the theatre of the absurd and classical movie making and human nature.

Okay, so that doesn't make a lot of sense, but neither does the movie. I found that to be…

  • Snowpiercer

So Snowpiercer, What a Fantastically dark movie. Going into this movie, I think it's best you know it's very dark, in a way that makes it feel realistic. With that, it should be clear that this movie is an acquired taste, I can see people disliking this movie it is a dystopian Scifi movie after all, Which is my cup of tea but not everyone's.

Now, the movie itself deals with great philosophical concepts about morality, life, death, and control.…

  • Uncut Gems

    Uncut Gems

Going into the film, all I had heard was how great Adam Sandler was in the role of Howard Ratner. I was not disappointed. Full disclosure I've never actually thought he was a bad actor at all, and this is a delight for me to see.

However, the film itself is an excellent story of how one man can fuck up his life so much or how sometimes even when your plans work out, you still don't win.

    Uncut Gems…
