I was dragged into this movie by friends in 1988. It was commercial with Kurt "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes" Russell from Disney and at the time not anything I had any interest in seeing. Just out of university, documentaries and art films were my thing. Ah, but Goldie and Kurt got me! Overboard works. Funny! So very funny! These two just have chemistry with ease. Goldie can pull on your heartstrings one second and make you belly laugh in…

Orchestra Wives 1942
My parakeet, Andy, is on a big band music kick, so when I saw this title, I admit I was intrigued for him. He loves the music of the era. Glenn Miller is no actor but I never expected him to be. His acting part was very small but flat. No worries. Others make up for it in spirit and panache. Enjoyable, cute film for when you just need to fill the time with a fun period piece and don't want to go too deep anywhere. The ensemble works with some of the notable character actors of the day.

Being John Malkovich 1999
Brilliant concept. Inspired those who followed. And kudos to Malkovich for this performance! A's all the way around!

The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone 1961
Tennessee Williams angst circa 1961 with Vivien Leigh and Warren Beatty. An British production set in Rome, Italy. Leigh turns in a great performance thanks to chemistry boiling with a young, handsome Beatty. First time I'd come across this gem.
