Andrea Arnold's sun-baked misery-romp around the Panhandle and the Midwest is incredibly intimate and energetic, and I admire the way the characters wear their big, throbbing hearts openly on their sleeves (or more often, on their bared skin). But the central lust story didn't entirely connect for me.
