Singin' in the Rain

Singin' in the Rain ★★★½

Why does Kathy denounce Don at first when she was actually a big fan? And then she immediately falls for him and the only threat to their relationship is the 30 seconds when she thinks he’s betraying her. Why do they establish Don as a lying douche only for him to not learn anything but somehow be a good person at the end? His whole arc is confused. I know why there’s a random 20-minute dance number that occurs in someone’s imagination, but why is this set up like the climax of the film before the climax actually happens?

The sets are astonishing, (most of) the songs are fun, it’s endlessly funny. I had a good time watching it, but it didn’t totally do it for me. Sorry guys.
