Day of the dead franchise?
It's hard to believe this came out post-Scream as it feels like it's right out the dead period for horror prior to that. It's also direct-to-video and it definitely has a cheap television quality and kind of a porn vibe. That's fitting since there is plenty of gratuitous nudity. I don't think there is a better movie to watch in the middle of winter. It's also crazy it was not well reviewed when it was released and is now considered one of the best sci-fi and horror movies ever. There is not really anything I would change about it, except to digitally insert Mary Elizabeth Winstead from the prequel into the beginning of this film. I kid...sort of. Another Carpenter classic. Okay so this is amazing...pun intended. Like Endgame it's really quite a miracle this all comes together so well. It's a lot of balls to juggle, but everything that came before really just adds to this film and it retroactively makes all those movies better too (and I already liked them).
