This was the shit in 2003 but it doesn't hold up THAT well. It's very of its time right down to the early 2000's metal, spotty CGI, and inserted pop star. It also has the very annoying trait of every character saying stupid exposition because they don't think the audience can follow a slasher movie. And why is Jason afraid of water? Despite all that the movie is visually slick, it services both franchises relatively well, and it has the gratuitous nudity and great kills you'd expect. The characters are fairly memorable and the way they bring Freddy and Jason together works well. The fight between Freddy and Jason is actually awesome and really that's all that matters for this to be a success. If you were alive in the 80's this is basically required viewing.
