I am not a very harsh critic.

I realized during this that I hadn't actually seen the Wind in the Willows segment before like I thought I had. Having been on the ride at Disneyland many times, I was disappointed he didn't wind up in Hell like I expected.

    And hooray! Into the '50's!

I wanna give a shout out to Disney+ for not including Make Mine Music on their streaming service for some reason. I would lose my mind if I did another one of these in a row.

    On to real movies!

Well, on to Ichabod! Then real movies! At least Ichabod is good!

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

There's a lot in this movie.

Even if you stick to surface level man-goes-crazy analysis, this movie is bangin'. Factor in all the Prometheus allusions and you got a movie that is jam-packed with flavor and depth.

Willem Dafoe was born to talk like this.

Side note: between all the tentacles and the masturbation, I think you're allowed to call this hentai.

The jury is still out on whether or not this is my favorite portrayal of the Joker, but I know for certain that this is my favorite version of Gotham City. It is completely conceivable to me that this version of the city could spawn the iconic villains Batman is known for (well, except the supernatural ones obviously).

I'm hoping they leave this movie as a standalone, instead of taking the easy way out (as DC and Warner Bros so often do).

I hope this paves the way for other artistic iterations of well known characters who are in need of an overhaul or character study.
