This movie is so weird. So much of it is a thing about to happen, you say to yourself “oh it’s this thing”, and then a character turns to another and they go “oh this thing?” “Yeah this thing!” *wink!*
I do feel like Ehrenreich had an impossible task that he did his best with. It’s funny that I’ve heard accusations that he’s just trying to ape Harrison Ford when Donald Glover is in this doing a much more exaggerated impression of his character’s actor. And yet Glover is still definitely much more fun to watch! Ehrenreich is fine but he’s not effortlessly cool. Donald Glover is. And they both needed to be.
This was the first time I’ve seen this since it came out. I bet I’ll revisit the entire Skywalker saga again before coming back to this.
