    Not as strong as Kubo, but this really deserves more attention than its getting.

    Exceptional animation. Well told story. Humor gets a little grating, but the upsides overwhelm it.

    I was hoping that Warner/DC was taking a different tone with their superhero films. And they did. And they took it too far. The comedy aspect of the film wears out its welcome very soon after Shazam shazams into the picture. Don't get me wrong, I like Zach Levi, but I can only take so much tightening of lips and jaw straining as an acting choice to convey "seriousness" or "thoughtfulness" or "concern" or "sadness" or "guiltiness" or "fearfullness"
