Musicals just aren't my thing... and I'm not a fan of princesses.
So needless to say I'm being generous with this score.
This film gets 3 stars for me just from the idea. The thought to make a movie about a theatre production a continuous one-shot with hidden transitions is just pure genius.
And it gets that other star from Keaton, Stone, Galifianakis, and Norton... also because of those opening credits
So far this is Tarantino's messiest film... or at least messiest in some of the stuff that it tries to do. But despite that, I loved this movie.
It's actually a unique sensation at the end of the film due to how it wraps up in a way like other movies, making me feel satisfied like all others do. Compared to Inglourious Bastards, where yes, it does wrap up in a satisfying way, it's not what you're generally used to…
It seriously bugs me that this is in my top ten. It still confuses me on why it works so well, and how it can speak to me in such subtle ways.
Not only do I love this movie because Spider-Man has been my favourite hero for the longest time, but because of how much thought, time, and effort was put into this.
Most people on first viewing look at it like "hey that was some pretty cool animation". But…
I'm SORRY!!! Is it the fact that I maybe was in a bad mood when I watched this? Is it the fact that I saw this film on IMDb as the 8th highest rated film of all time? Is it the fact that I was told this movie did something completely original and was like nothing I have ever seen and would blow my socks off... Maybe, but I just don't really like this movie.
This is going to definitely…
This is everything I don't like about early 2000 movies so why would I go see the new one????
