  • Hunt for the Wilderpeople

    Hunt for the Wilderpeople

Really really enjoyed this. The only real issue I had with it is it starts to feel a little messy and unfocused once it evolves into the bigger setpieces and sets of characters. If it were to stay at its roots and let me as the audience sink into that, then I think this would've hit much stronger. But still, so happy to see Taika doing what he does best.
Also, is New Zealand really like this? Because from what I can see it looks pretty majestical... aye?

  • Chicken Run

    Chicken Run

Knowing prior this was an homage to The Great Escape left me very confused towards the end of the movie where all the chickens lived a happy and free life and didn't get chased down across the country then brutally murdered behind government officials backs.

  • Tenet

    I hate headaches...

  • Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

Since Buzz may just be the most entertaining character to be in any Christmas movie, I figured it would be good to share some of the greatest quotes by his truly:

    - "No, for three reasons: A, I'm not that lucky. Two, we use smoke detectors and D, we live on the most boring street in the whole United States of America, where nothing even remotely dangerous will ever happen."
    - "Say... isn't it true that French babes don't shave…

  • Rebecca

I think there's more to this than I'm initially understanding.
One thing that I can absolutely compliment this film on is the place it's taken hold of in my mind. I can't shake the last moment, the last thought, the last feeling that this film leaves you with.
So while yes, I was anticipating a film far different and something easier for me to grasp along the lines of Rear Window, Pyscho, Vertigo etc.
But honestly, I'm glad it isn't.

  • Spaghetti Western

    Spaghetti Western

    Yeah dude.
In the time of you all waiting for the 'quality' content I'm working on I made a little short film for a youth film festival that's tomorrow. So yeah, it's preachy, and yeah it's goofy, but I just wanted to kinda have fun with it you know? The sun also set wayyyyy too fast so we didn't really have enough time to do the absolute best job we could. But for what it is, I think it's pretty…

  • Kung Fu Panda

    Kung Fu Panda

"one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it"

Only reason I watched this is to watch the second one.
But regardless it has some of the best 'By-Gone Gym' moments in any animated movie, and possible any movie in general. And for those of you who don't know; a 'By-Gone Gym' moment is a piece of advice or quote that conveys meaning anyone can take away from.
And who better than to deliver that than Master Oogway.
I seriously can't wait for the second one though...

  • Erin Brockovich

    Erin Brockovich

Dude, it's been a while since I've watched a movie for enjoyment. It feels kinda weird honestly.
And yeah Erin Brockovich is a fun time. I didn't necessarily gel with one half of the split narrative as the other, but regardless, it has fantastic performances, writing, and direction. Where it falls short for me in terms of anything deeper than the surface level watch (themes metaphors, symbols etc.). Furthermore, this is a film I was captivated by in certain moments,…

  • Sergeant York

    Sergeant York

Had to watch this for class and went in with very high expectations...

bamboozled myself for sure cause Adventures In Odyssey did it better.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Yeah sure it's messy as my plate after spaghetti night, but I couldn't care less.
It has by far the best usage of music in any Marvel film. Specifically The Chain: having it being the only song appear twice in the film, both being incorporated with the context of 'the chain' being broken; the family Peter chose then rejected, and then the family he was born from then realizing the people who accept him are his true family. Wonderfully cathartic in ways most these Marvel films aren't.

  • Back to the Future Part II

Back to the Future Part II

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Yes it's still fun, and I give it credit for having such an original idea, but the fact being, this is only a part one to the overarching story that only concludes itself in the next film. And that really hurts it for the worst. A film to take for an example is Infinity War, yes it is a part one, but it still accomplished its purpose set up from the first few minutes of the film. This has setups…

    Harry Potter - Book 1

So over the past few weeks, I've begun to read books, crazy right? And I figured Harry Potter would be a good series to start on so now that I finished both the second and third book I decided to start watching the movies.
And one thing I've come to notice is not that the book is better, but it makes the movie so much worse! The film feels like a multitude of convenient plot-points…
