    Promising Young Woman

First off I want to give a big thank you to my good buddy Sam for recommending this to me!
Because this is one ferocious beast of a movie.
I could talk about the editing, the cinematography, the performances, the music, but I would literally be adding jack-squat to the conversation because you all already know that.
However, the reason why I haven't given it a higher score (or the 'mastapiece' grade) is simply because I think the themes are…

  • Klaus

Just here to remind you about the most underrated Christmas movie. I cannot praise it enough for how heartwarming it is...

still hate that frickin song tho

  • Mank

Okay, I still have no clue why no one is talking about Bill Nye's cameo... like how wild is that?

But yo people are gonna have problems with this. And I think that simply dilutes down to the experience not being as riveting as some of Fincher's other work. Regardless, this still is still a film made by David Fincher. It still has that mechanical soul, that gorgeously perfect cinematography and that hard-hitting theme that comes rolling around at the…

  • The Help

    The Help

I watched this in preparation for the book. And only 3 chapters in I can already tell you how much better the book is written and crafted.
That is not to say this isn't great... cause it is. I just think the book brings a level of authenticity and emotion that you only get the surface level inside the film.
Without a doubt, all the performances are off the charts in this. Each and every person gives it their all…

  • Searching

The funniest part about watching this (that's not really saying much though cause it's a movie about a single dad's daughter gone missing) was watching it with my friend who guessed literally every plot-point bang on perfect.
I had already seen it prior to today and she knew more than me!!!!
Someone explain to me how she's so smart or how I'm so dumb...

"don't try to understand it. feel it"

NAH fam I gotta understand it!
Dude all I've been hearing is how this film is too complex for its own good, and how the character work sucks, and how bad the sound mixing is (although you are correct on that one). If I'm being honest it almost feels cool to dislike this. And I was in the same boat on the first watch but DUDE! I'm telling you now that a rewatch…

  • The Meaning of Life

    The Meaning of Life

Monty Python has always had a clear handle on the essential comic techniques. But somehow is still able to create a completely new genre and expanding the medium of what we think is possible in comedy to crap that works just because it works. But it's where this film is able to separate itself from films like The Holy Grail by exploring philosophical questions and themes in an easily digestible way by the usage of the absurdism that provokes your mind once the film is finished... at least for me cause my dad just kept quoting the 'funny lines' once it was over.

  • The Blair Witch Project

    The Blair Witch Project

Welp now that I've officially soiled myself and plugged my ears till I'm deaf, I can now go to sleep with the lights on for eternity...
