  • Sputnik

For a person like me, who has spent the last thirty years hunting down and watching every single Alien-ripoff ever known to man, the story in Sputnik has no real surprises. It has nothing new.

BUT. And here is the thing, it is still exceptionally well written, shot and acted, in spite of being derivative. It takes itself seriously, never even coming close to anything resembling tongue in cheek, which is why this is one of the best alien ripoffs…

    Bert's Diary

My seven year old daughter wanted to see this so, ok. Unfortunately this is super cringey humor for twelve year olds with a main character that does not deserve a happy ending. He is a dick. But, my daughter had a lot of fun and I do realize that I am nowhere near the target audience. But fuck Bert. He is an asshole.

    Burial Ground

Il notti del terrore aka Burial ground is my all time favorite go to movie when everything else fail, I watch it at least once a year, it has that level of comfort. I'm not even going to bother to write a review this time, just tell you a little story.

Everyone who has seen the movie knows the effigy that is Peter Bark, the adult male with the horrendous haircut that plays the incestous Michael. You'll never forget him…

    Nightmare City

One of my dearest friends got married today and I couldn't attend because I am at home with a nasty fever. Which sucks. :(

So I decided to do the next best thing, nod off on the couch to his favorite movie of all time. My little tribute.

Here's to you Fred and Gregory. Five stars.
