Fuck yes. This absolutely rips. Crafty, scary, and moving? It’s sadly a rare recent example of a movie’s prioritization of story over scares. Not to say I didn’t jump several times, but there’s a clear sense of passion to tell a story. It also helps that Dever offers arguably some of her best work yet— a powerhouse performance.
I feel like I’ve been foaming at the mouth for Hollywood to give us some good old fashioned alien invasion stories and…

I really hated Wes Anderson’s last two films (Asteroid City, The French Dispatch), but this was actually… more than decent! With the fluid camerawork and great staging, it felt like a return to form. The acting was pretty decent. May you see this film and be inspired.
