Bless this cast for almost salvaging such an Akiva Goldsman-ass script

Two stars for the awesome ladies that where cast here and one for the house in which I would like to live. The rest is ... absurd late 90s cinema. Also Aidan Quinn and Sandra Bullock have zero chemistry and I wish Mark Feuerstein would have been the second guy in her live.

Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock are two of the most beautiful women alive in this movie.

But oh my goddddddddddddddddddd I got nothing out of it.

The film reduces Hoffman's novel down to the cinematic version of Charmed just with Stockard Channing and Dianne Weist in tow. Tonally, it's all over the place and the characters and plot are messy as hell, but there's something charming, sweet and even comforting about it that makes me wish it was that much better than the 90's Third Teir films it will always sit with despite its terrific cast.

Okie dokie. This was really bad. I've seen three Aronofsky's and enjoyed them all, but this film genuinely makes me question his abilities. To be fair, a lot of the issues with this are on the page and, frankly, are inherent to the story its trying to tell. But the performances are all his fault. None of them are even bad, they're just often not very good. Hong Chau and Samantha Morton are the only ones who are able to…
