and here I thought Taika Waititi could make a bad movie...turns out I was wrong.
maybe cute isn't the right word, but Hunt for the Wilderpeople is definitely endearing. it takes a while to get used to its dry humor and strange tone and style, but with great performances from both leads, this is an aptly humorous and creative film, with heaps of emotion added on to it. still think What We Do in the Shadows is better, but Waititi still succeeds at bringing his directorial style to a beautiful coming-of-age story.
