Gave me hard Band of Outsiders vibes. This film has a large beating heart right in the middle of the whole thing.
I’ve never truly loved a Cuaron film (though I really like Children of Men), but I can safely say that this film hit me like a truck.
It’s actors have got the utmost charisma, the long takes don’t feel overly blattent, and any aspects that many films could be kinda iffy on how well they implement said aspects (sex, narration)...Y Tú Mamá Tambíen nails.
It’s a simple story with a very loud voice. I have no excuse to not watch Roma in the near future.
Also...I’ve been recently nailing my picks for early 2000’s foreign films
