Goodfellas is up there with the Irishman as one of my favorite gangster epics. This felt a lot like Casino except it was just...better.

Alien 1979
Second movie seen in the theater in 2021. Just incredibly solid. I legitimately felt as if I was watching Star Wars for the first time as a child. From the first frame I was intrigued by the world that Ridley Scott had crafted. The set design is so incredibly advanced and blew me away. The pacing felt strange but I understand that he had to work with what he had. A fundamental horror film and addition to the realm of sci-fi.

Put simply, its very good.
Palm Springs really caused a lot of buzz at Sundance and now we all get to see why. This light-hearted comedy refuses to settle into conventional tropes and becomes something unique. I found myself laughing quite a bit at the various shenanigans that come with the "Groundhog Day" concept of no consequences and creative suicides. The movie has a philosophical bent as well.
