Hilarious and super charming. Good to see people are still doing fun things with the mockumentary format in relatively recent years. Also seems like something that's rife for a follow up, so the recent TV series makes sense (and is absolutely on my list now)
A surprisingly functional haunted house film - kind of like the first Conjuring, but much less remarkable. Dumb fun with every imaginable horror movie contrivance (how is this film set in one fairly small house and the kids still end up separating?) and some good performances.
It's hard not to be cynical about Ghost in the Shell 2017. Not only is there the much discussed 'whitewashing' of the cast, but the cringey attempts the film makes to cover its tracks, an eye-rolling 'actually it's clever that we did this' moment, make it feel even more tonedeaf. On top of that, surprise surprise, this big budget blockbuster doesn't handle its heavy themes with the nuance of a 20 year old anime. With all that said, GitS 2017…

As wildly entertaining and satisfying a conclusion as you could hope for in a ten-year saga like this. While the Marvel universe of films will invariably roll on; the culmination of stories for that initial cast of characters makes every step of the journey feel worthwhile.
