“The greatest star of them all”
Sunset Boulevard is a brilliant picture. More than anything else, it reminded me a lot of First Blood. Like Rambo, Norma Desmond was built and raised for a world and environment that no longer exists, where her usefulness has expired and she’s been left behind as everyone else moves forward, the neglect leading to inevitable self-destruction. The two characters are completely different in context, but the connecting theme is incredibly powerful and will continue to be relevant forever.
