Zendaya and Austin Butler save this film.

The action is neat - but limited. Why is the climactic battle with the worms over in minutes?

This narrative is dripping with metaphor - get it? The bad guys bathe in oil because they're capitalists with no hearts. Themes are impressively drawn out for a huge budget blockbuster - I'm surprised religious fanatics aren't picketing the cinemas.

    Hans Zimmer is his BWAAA-iest.

A fascinating look at an intense sport that's marginally let down by the editing which often feels disjointed in its bid to manufacture suspense where it's not required. The sport is intense enough, let that thrive on its own, don't edit scenes to amplify it in a way that takes away from what we're seeing.

With that said, this is still a compelling cinematic sibling to the many other extreme sports docs out there. Beautifully shot at times too with superb underwater cinematography.

As the Mission: Impossible film series nears its third decade, it reaches an inevitability - another crummy entry in the series.

Series saviour Christopher McQuarrie returns for another spin with this rather tired and tedious spy flick - the first of two 'parts' - that thrusts reliable Ethan Hunt into a world on the brink of destruction by an AI machine ominously called 'The Entity'.

It's a device that can be controlled or destroyed if you have two keys, so…
