Zendaya and Austin Butler save this film.
The action is neat - but limited. Why is the climactic battle with the worms over in minutes?
This narrative is dripping with metaphor - get it? The bad guys bathe in oil because they're capitalists with no hearts. Themes are impressively drawn out for a huge budget blockbuster - I'm surprised religious fanatics aren't picketing the cinemas.
Hans Zimmer is his BWAAA-iest.
So much sand.
Also, Javier Bardem gives a delightfully comedic performance that's not supposed to be funny.
Anyhow... WORMS... WHAT ARE THEY GOOD FOR?
