Psycho II ★★½

Surprisingly good.  The Hitchcock style is replicated carefully, with elaborate matte painting composites, Dutch angles, high vertiginous angles - but now with bright expressionistic color to bring out the ever shifting extremes of Norman’s frail, fresh outta jail psychological state.  The plot falters a bit at the end with some not-so-well-thought-out twists, but overall was extremely impressed by this.
