I've seen this story been told like a million times. Fighting with your parents, your best friend, fell in love, get betrayed, trying to fit in with the popular kids and then finding out “your real friends were the ones you made along the way" (seriously I hate this trope so much), etc. Going in, I thought that this is just another basic coming-of-age movie which it is. But ..... somehow I can't find myself hating it.
