Midsommar

Ari Aster lacks creativity. His structure for this film is incredibly similar to his previous one, Hereditary — and it just becomes derivative and redundant. The opening events of Midsommar start off too strong, creating expectation from the viewer before emotionally falling flat. Shock value is used to cover up the lack of development and empathy for any of his characters in this weak and uninteresting story and structure. The viewer starts to no longer focus on the protagonist because of some mythological cult bullshit. Annoying.
