I feel like this is going to end up being like The Favourite was for me last year. I had a bad movie experience which made me just not really like the film overall as much as I should. Hopefully I have a chance to watch this again but in my bedroom alone because it wasn’t bad, but I just didn’t like it as much as others.
This is an insane movie, there’s no doubt about that. Willem DaFoe and Robert Pattinson were absolute powerhouses and the direction by Robert Eggers was incredible. I did, however find myself getting distracted and just not really caring or paying attention to the story. I sort of zone out for many parts of this. I love me some slow burn horror, but this just didn’t work for me today.
Like I said before, the theater experience wasn’t the best either, as there was a drunk guy who got up about 15 times as well as a couple that had to comment on every little thing happening, so that sort of hindered my experience, and like I said earlier a rewatch at home could help with this.
