That final shot that lingers on a car trunk is haunting and intense. Lanthimos is able to plant a thought in your mind and just when you think something is about to happen, it ends and cuts to black. This is such a mysterious movie, fucked up and original in very creative ways. I probably won’t be able to see Killing of a Sacred Deer in theaters, but Yorgos Lanthimos is going to become a huge thing especially with this and The Lobster under his belt.
