this was very good. i kinda loved it.

i went in wanting to love it, 30 minutes in and i’m not sure then, as it progresses by the end, i’m clapping.

in sense it was quite healing. just so relaxing, well thought out, relatable, funny, touching. everything art can be. this is why we need cinema. a great piece of art makes my day immensely better.

dark. gritty, thrilling, noir-esque. oh, so dark. it’s fair to say i was very pleased with The Batman. the best comic book / superhero movie in years! lead by an auteurist vision, focusing on aesthetic, mood. atmosphere, story and characters. the most immersive superhero movie, of all time. this film has such a defined tone linking with noir and the gritty crime thrillers of David Fincher.

the sequences that got me most excited wasn’t the action, although that was great,…

probably the most CRAZY, INSANE, ABSURD film i’ve ever seen. it’s got Daniels regular crude humour, which sometimes steps over the line for me - but most moments were very funny.
cinema was pretty full. you could tell the audience were really connected to the film. constant laughter…. even in moments where it wasn’t meant to be funny.
a film that juggles SO MUCH it requires LOTS of skill to balance that, and they pulled it off. it’s so crazy it might just work. the craftsmanship is unmatched. truly extraordinary.
touching, funny, sad, insane, ridiculous, stupid and poignant - this film has it all.

I’m still processing. Wow. A cinematic event. Pure brilliant cinema on the biggest screen possible. Villeneuve crafts something sublime in every respect. Absolutely incredible. Transporting us to another world seamlessly, while employing a dream-like trance. That’s all I’ll say for now. Need to watch again.

    2001: A Space Odyssey

One of the greatest cinematic experiences of my life. To call this film a “film” is an understatement, it’s an experience, every time you watch it.
Got to see this in 70mm, never looked better. Seeing those iconic shots on the BIG screen, it was glorious. Packed cinema. At the end we all applauded, never had a crowd like it.
