Ken Russell kicks my ass yet again.
If it weren't for Lair of the White Worm, everything I've seen from this guy has been a 5/5. This is a pulpy, neon-lit, psychosexual headtrip in the same vein as a Dario Argento film and I loved the shit out of it.
This is one of my favorite film noirs ever, but it utilizes color as much a lot of them utilize shadows. That said, the use of shadows in this are great and it knows exactly what it is.
It's a sexy grindhouse film noir with Ken Russell's visual flare. If you're me, I don't know what more you could want.
