'Burning' is an absolute masterpiece, the only other movie I've seen from Lee Chang-dong was 'Oasis' (2002) and I can tell that he is going to become one of my favorite directors.
The three main characters are interesting and really well written, you end up caring for two of them and being intimidated by one of them. While I doubt it'll happen I think that these three main actors deserve to be nominated for an oscar for their performances, especially the actor who plays Ben.
It has one of the best last 45 minutes I've ever seen in a movie, the movie starts off as a drama but slowly becomes a psychological "thriller" and the ending is just incredible.
While it is very slow, I was never bored because the characters are likeable and the story becomes more interesting and disturbing. It's one of the best movies of the year and I can't wait to see it again.
