• Pacific Rim: Uprising

    Pacific Rim: Uprising

Two lousy sequels that take place 10 years after and ignore continuity from the first movie in one day!

Decent looking monsters. Glimpses of interesting concepts, but overall it was a cliched amalgamation of other movies.

It was not a stellar movie day.

  • Gator Bait 2: Cajun Justice

    Gator Bait 2: Cajun Justice

The charm found in the first 'Gator Bait has been been drowned in the swamp.

Lazy plot. Overly padded scenes. No humor. This one just isn't fun.

My biggest question... Was it a transplant or prosthetic tongue?

This sequel pales in comparison to the original movie in almost every way. The majority of my score comes from a scene involving a bag full of snakes.

  • 'Gator Bait

    'Gator Bait

One more from the VHS days that I never got to see is now marked off!

I enjoyed this more than I expected to. There's a charm to it that is hard to pinpoint. The tone sways between comedic and dark in a way that I don't think I've seen too many times. Angel (1984) does this too and I love that movie.

Heads up for those that haven't seen it... there is one moment in this film that feels out of place and unnecessary to the story. It is a very vile act that knocks the "fun" out of the movie for a bit.

  • Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker

    Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker

    Wow, just... WOW, MAN!

It goes completely batshit insane near the end.

    Wow. For real.

  • Logan

This is the first superhero movie in a long time that successfully humanizes the extraordinary characters it shows.

  • I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore

I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore

The dark comedy, the sobering violence, the soundtrack... I kinda loved this movie.

  • The Lego Batman Movie

    The Lego Batman Movie

I completely forgot I watched this.

  • Green Room

    Green Room

If I could write well I might try to explain how one scene in particular is the lighting of a fuse to a bomb. Then I might try to explain how a later scene is where the fuse has ignited the bomb and everything after is the explosion. Only this explosion just keeps going and going though and feels like it is not going to stop.

But, I can't to do anything like that well enough to do it justice.…

  • Hush

I'd love to be able to write an epic review of this movie, but I'm going to keep it short, sweet, and to the point just like the film itself.

It's not perfect, but it is a incredibly tense and well made thriller.

    Watch this movie.

  • The Gate

    The Gate

I remember seeing The Gate at the theater the year it came out and enjoying it quite a bit. The last time I watched it was about 4 years ago and it didn't do much for me at the time.

The Gate is split into two parts. The first part has a weird straight to video after school special vibe that may have been what threw me off the last time I watched it. The second part steps up to…

  • The Witch

    The Witch

Don't go into The Witch expecting one liners and a quick pace. It's a deliberate and intense drama with horror overtones about a family that is systematically destroyed through internal and external forces.

The score helps in creating a persistent sense of dread throughout the movie without being heavy-handed. The photography is nice, but I feel this would have been better served by a wider aspect ratio.

  • Safe Men

    Safe Men

A truly underrated and overlooked comedy from the mid 90's.
