TheIronMan’s review published on Letterboxd:
Quite a bit of fun, not as much as I was hoping for given it is a Holmes story, but nice entertainment. Millie Bobby Brown is doing a great job, and they use a kind of 4th wall breaking format, which works for me. The whole vibe is quite nice.
Unfortunately there are some cons to the movie. The main thing is that half way through the movie, the main story line is completely sidelined until the last 5 minutes. The replacement story is totally fine, but the change feels weird. Also, there is nothing wrong with Henry Cavill and Sam Claflin as Sherlock and Mycroft, but when the bar is set so high by Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Gatiss, it keeps feeling weird to me. I think it took me an hour to buy the performance. Next to this Cavill has a way to muscular body for the character of Sherlock.
